myopia is also known as near-sightedness. It is an inherited condition usually detected in the children between the ages of 8 and 12. The specific symptoms of myopia are blurred distance vision, eye discomfort, squinting and eye strain. There are two schools of thoughts regarding the progression of myopia, the geneticist school believes that myopia is 100% inherited. The environmentalist school believes myopia is 100% environmentally induced. We believe that both genetic and environmental factors play role in the presence and progression of myopia. The general symptoms of myopia includes difficulty in seeing distant objects, colour blindness, refractive errors, changes while reading, etc.
